When a Legacy PROFIBUS Master Stops Talking
A stalled PROFIBUS segment halts production fast. The IC693PBM200-DE keeps Series 90-30 systems running as a PROFIBUS DP-V0 master, connecting controllers to up to 125 DP slaves. Emerson now owns the line, but the module remains a GE Fanuc / GE Intelligent Platforms design built for the Series 90-30 rack.
This is the DE variant, a single-slot I/O module measuring 124 × 30 × 114 mm and weighing 0.60 kg. It draws 450 mA typical at 5 VDC from the backplane. For plants maintaining legacy GE racks, sourcing a tested spare beats a full control-system migration.

Technical Specifications That Matter
Network Capacity
One PROFIBUS master port (9-pin D-Sub, RS-485) handles up to 125 DP slaves. Input and output data capacities each reach 244 bytes, enough for dense remote I/O clusters on a single segment.
Baud Rate Flexibility
Nine selectable baud rates span 9.6K to 12M baud. Long cable runs favor lower speeds; short, high-density segments can run at 12M baud for faster cycle times.
Service and Diagnostics
A dedicated RS-232 service port supports configuration and troubleshooting without disturbing the PROFIBUS segment.
Environmental Envelope
Operating temperature is 0 to 60 °C, storage spans -40 to +85 °C, and relative humidity runs 5 to 95% non-condensing. The IP20 rating suits clean cabinet installation.
Where It Fits on the Plant Floor
Remote I/O concentration. A refinery or gas plant with distributed valve banks and transmitters can consolidate up to 125 slaves under one master, cutting home-run wiring.
Legacy rack expansion. When a Series 90-30 line needs PROFIBUS connectivity without a controller swap, this module drops into a single slot and restores network function.
Mixed-vendor segments. The DP-V0 master role lets the rack supervise drives, remote I/O, and third-party DP devices from multiple vendors on one bus.

Integration Note
Wiring into a PROFIBUS DP network may require an external gateway or connection module depending on your controller and cabling. Confirm cables, connectors, and gateways with your supplier before commissioning.
Maintenance and Reliability
Inspect the module and D-Sub connector periodically for contamination and secure seating. Keep cabinet temperature within the 0 to 60 °C range and humidity below condensing levels. Because this unit is listed as legacy/obsolete in aftermarket channels, holding a tested spare on the shelf protects uptime.
