Product Overview
When vibration monitoring points sit in harsh, high-temperature industrial environments, measurement reliability decides whether you catch a machine fault early or lose production to an unexpected failure. The 144-202-000-226 is the Vibro Meter CA202 piezoelectric accelerometer — a heavy-duty charge-output sensor built for exactly those conditions.
This standard version ships with an 11 m integral low-noise cable, protected by a flexible stainless-steel hose that is hermetically welded to the sensor to form a sealed, leaktight assembly. The symmetrical shear-mode polycrystalline measuring element sits inside an austenitic stainless-steel case with internal insulation and differential output.

Key Parameters That Matter
Sensitivity and Dynamic Range
The CA202 delivers 100 pC/g ±5% at 120 Hz with 5 g. Its dynamic measurement range spans 0.01 to 400 g peak, with overload capacity up to 500 g peak for spikes. Linearity holds at ±1% from 0.01 to 20 g peak and ±2% from 20 to 400 g peak — practical accuracy across both low-amplitude and high-shock events.
Frequency and Temperature
Frequency response covers 0.5 to 6000 Hz at ±5%, with a nominal resonant frequency above 22 kHz. The sensor operates continuously from −55 to +260°C, while the integral cable handles −55 to +200°C. Short-term survival reaches −70 to +280°C for the sensor. Temperature sensitivity error is 0.25%/°C below 23°C and 0.1%/°C above it.
Sealed Construction
The hermetically welded austenitic stainless-steel sensor and heat-resistant stainless-steel protection hose resist 100% relative humidity, water, steam, oil, sea-salt atmospheres, dust, fungus and sand. Internal insulation resistance is 109 Ω minimum, and the sensor weighs approximately 250 g with cable at 135 g/m.
Where the CA202 Fits
Steam turbine and compressor monitoring. The 260°C continuous rating and sealed stainless housing suit turbine casings and compressor frames where heat and moisture attack ordinary sensors.
Hazardous-area machinery. Ex versions of the CA202 are certified for potentially explosive atmospheres, making the platform a practical choice for oil, gas and petrochemical rotating equipment.
Replacement and upgrade programs. When an existing charge-output accelerometer fails, matching sensitivity, frequency range and mounting pattern is the fastest route back to reliable data. The CA202’s 100 pC/g output and four M6 × 35 mounting screws align with common heavy-duty vibration monitoring setups.

Installation and Signal Chain
The CA202 is a charge-output sensor with no input power requirement. Signal transmission uses a 2-pin system insulated from case, and the charge output requires a charge converter — the IPC70x signal conditioner — to produce a usable voltage signal. The lower cutoff frequency is set by that signal conditioner, so confirm the conditioner’s range matches your measurement band before commissioning.
Mounting uses four M6 × 35 Allen screws and four M4 spring-lock washers at a nominal tightening torque of 15 Nm (11.1 lb-ft). The unit terminates with flying leads. Base-strain sensitivity is 0.15 x 10−3 g/µε at 250 µε peak-peak, so mount on a flat, prepared surface to limit strain-induced error.
Maintenance and Reliability
Because the assembly is hermetically sealed, routine work is mostly external: inspect the protection hose for mechanical damage, check mounting torque periodically, and verify cable routing away from hot surfaces or abrasion points. The stainless-steel hose protects the integral cable in wet, oily and dusty plants, which reduces unplanned sensor replacement and keeps monitoring channels online.
